I Know What It Feels Like to Want to Feel Better

Hi, I’m Susan. I’ve always been someone who likes to learn for myself. Even as a child, I questioned what was in the food we were eating. I remember sitting on the kitchen counter reading ingredients from boxes and bags and asking my mom, “What is this stuff?” I didn’t have the answers yet, but I knew that certain foods often left me feeling uncomfortable. By high school, I was dealing with digestive problems, brain fog, skin issues, and changes in my weight. That was also when I was first introduced to herbs, whole foods, and natural health, and I began paying much closer attention to how food and daily habits affected the way I felt.

Over the years, my own health challenges pushed me to keep looking deeper. I read, studied, worked with natural health practitioners, and tried many different approaches. A major turning point came when I began working at the Annapurna Center for Self Healing in Washington, where I spent several years as a raw food chef and colon hydrotherapist. There I learned more about raw and living foods, herbs, fasting, cleansing practices, and simple ways to support the body. That is also where colon hydrotherapy became an important part of my own journey. I experienced it myself, learned to work with clients, and later earned my Colon Hygiene Certification.

For more than 40 years, I’ve continued studying natural health, food, herbs, cleansing, and the work of many different teachers. I’m still a student. I still ask questions. And I still believe there is a lot we can learn by paying attention to the body and working with it instead of against it. Those experiences taught me to listen closely, question what wasn’t working, and keep learning.

Today, I offer Woods Gravity Method colon hydrotherapy in Portland, Oregon, where you can relax in a calm, private space, ask questions, and take your time. I know how confusing it can feel when you’re trying to feel better and aren’t sure what your body needs. My approach is simple: listen, share what I’ve learned, answer your questions, and support you as you learn more about your own body.
